It’s been a few months since we’ve had a challenge here at Bloom to Fit.

In fact, it was all the way back in June that we had our fun with 21 days of kettlebell squatting. Oh those burning memories.

But today is a new day and we’re going to try something different this time around.

Most of our previous challenges have been focused on developing endurance and/or lower body strength. This time, we’re going to spend a few weeks purely focused on developing upper body strength.

We’re going to utilize one of the most powerful bodyweight training exercises on the planet. No extra equipment is needed.

If you have what it takes to join us, then you’ll be rewarded with a substantial boost in upper body strength, core strength, and ego.

The 21 Day Kettlebell Squat Challenge

Kettlebell Squat ChallengeThat time has come again, my friends.

Although we’ve had a couple of months to relax since our last burpee adventure, it’s time to step outside of that comfort zone one more time.

A new challenge is upon us.

And this one, my young grasshoppers, is going to be a doozy.

I’m going to need you to wipe the dust off that beautiful kettlebell of yours the moment you finish reading this and get it prepped for what’s to come. There’s much, much work to be done.

Whether or not you’re a fan of “leg day”, the next 21 days are going to grueling. But don’t let that discourage you. If you have the cajonas to join us and the discipline to stick through this challenge, you will be rewarded with some dandy results.

Your legs may turn into titanium plates. Your buns might start to look like sweet, sweet grapefruits. Your strength and mobility will begin to parallel that of a ninja. And your core will tighten up so much that it will scare the fat right off your body. What more can you ask for before summer?

Fascinating, I know. But it’s what gives us equal amounts of day and night. Can’t complain about more sunshine, can you?

How We Turned Over 500 Jump Rope Enthusiasts Into Jump Rope Ninjas: The 30 Day JRDUMC Summary

Something absolutely amazing.

Yesterday was the last day of the 30 day jump rope double under mastery challenge presented by yours truly, Bloom to Fit, and CrossRope Jump Ropes.

Over these last 30 days, we helped hundreds of people from all over the world master one of the most bad ass jump rope variations on the planet: the double under

Over these last 30 days, I watched newbie jumpers make absolutely massive leaps with their jump rope proficiency. I watched, through weekly challenges and technique sessions, beginners fight and crawl their way to ninja level. I watched guys make 1000% + improvements on their double under PRs in weeks!

Absolutely mind boggling stuff!

And, to celebrate these great achievements, I want to dedicate this post to all the participants of the 30 day JRDUM challenge who put in some serious ninja work over these past 30 days.

30 Day Jump Rope Double Under Mastery Challenge

I want you to dust off your trainers, tighten up your laces, and dig up that jump rope one more time.

It’s time for another challenge.

The last jump rope challenge was a smashing success. We had nearly 250 participants from all over the world come together to achieve over one million jump rope revolutions in 30 days.

I’m still rubbing my eyes in disbelief.

And now we’re going to do it again.

But this time we’re going to do things a little differently.

This won’t be just a simple challenge. No way. This is going to be one incredible learning experience.

If you listened hard enough you could almost hear the chants echoing from the distance.

Tough Mudder Toronto 2013 was calling.

We thought last year’s experience was enough to prepare us for what was to come. We thought we had it all figured out. We changed our training tactics. We put in our work. We did it all.

But there was one element none of us could foresee.

One element none of us could control.

And it changed everything.

30 Day Jump Rope Challenge Summary (or how 246 Jumpers Reached One Million Revolutions)

I’m still rubbing my eyes in disbelief.

In 150 minutes of jumping rope spread across 30 days, we have collectively completed over one million jump rope revolutions!

One. Point. Three. Million. Jumps. (to be exact)

Deep breath taken.

As I allow everything to sink in, I can finally begin to not only comprehend, but also appreciate everything that has happened during the 30 day jump rope challenge.

I really couldn’t have expected the level of participation, camaraderie, and undying effort that people have put into these last 30 days.

30 Day Jump Rope Challenge

Back in July, I asked you guys to do 100 kettlebell swings every single day for 30 days straight.

Sounds a bit insane, I know.

But the feedback and response I got from the 30 day kettlebell swing challenge was incredible and I was beyond excited to see so many people follow through the entire 30 days.

Much was gained from that challenge.

What most of us thought was going to be a physically demanding challenge turned out to be something completely different.

Something deeper. More stimulating.

It turned out that the act of having to consistently do the same thing every single day was far more of a mental challenge than anything else.

It was about breaking through personal barriers and fighting the demons in our minds that make us doubt ourselves.

It was about tearing through our perceived limitations.

Because no matter what was going on in your day, you knew, in the back of your mind somewhere, that  those swings had to get done. It didn’t matter what situation or limitation you were facing, you had to get it done. Period.

And that’s the part of the challenge that people loved the most. The part they benefited from the most. It wasn’t the swings themselves that were difficult. It was about finding a way to get them done when every fiber in your body was resisting it.

And now, it’s time to embark on a new challenge.

Only this time it’s going to be much bigger. Much more intense. And you’ll have new barriers to break through. New demons to fight. New obstacles to conquer. But, if you stick with me, I promise that it will be more than worth it.
